Agios Andreas Monastery Milapidia

The Monastery of Agios Andreas (Milapidia Monastery) belongs to the oldest monasteries of Kefalonia island, built in Mazarakata, near the Castle of Agios Georgios. Although it is considered one of the most important religious institutions on the island, it is visited by less people than St. Gerasimos Monastery.

The oldest mentions about the Monastery of Agios Andreas date back in the mid-1300s, but officially it was founded in 1579, and still functions as a monastery.
