The sacred Monastery of Kipourion is located in Paliki peninsula, on the west coastline of Kefalonia island. The monastery is unfortunately usually closed, but the area is breathtaking. Kipourion Monastery was founded in 1750, and got its name after the surrounding lush gardens (kipos = gardens in Greek language).
