The incredible steep cliffs of the west coastline and the turquoise sea colours are the main attractions of Platia Ammos beach viewpoint in Kefalonia, which is one of the most picturesque places in the island. The best views to Platia Ammos can be seen from the parking lot above, where the road ends and the ruined stairs starts.

To reach the parking lot and the lookout of Platia Ammos beach you have to drive (or walk) on a dirt road about 1 kilometer from the junction of the asphalt road, so get ready for poor road conditions with pebbles and stones! The stairs of Platia Ammos were destroyed by an eartquake a few years ago, and due to the dangerous trail the only safe access is a visit by a boat.
But there are also some great news: for the best photos of Platia Ammos you don’t have to walk down on the ruined stairs, the views to beach are breathtaking from the lookout above!

A visit to Platia Ammos beach viewpoint is recommended primarily when you discover the area of Paliki peninsula, where the town of Lixouri, the famous red sand beach Xi, and the Caribbean beach of Kefalonia island, Petani beach are located.
