Despite it’s huge dimensions and natural beauty in Kefalonia Platia Ammos beach is a hidden gem in these days, because it’s access is also very special. Many years ago a concrete stairway was built from the heights to the beach, but an earthquake ruined the stairs in 2014, making its access much difficult. Now the safe access to reach Platia Ammos is a trip by boat, but a few brave tourists literally risk their lifes and go down on the ruined and very dangerous path.
