The 2000 years old Roman Mosaics were founded in Skala, which decorated the floor of a Roman villa. The Roman villa in Skala was a built around 200 A.D., and it was a property of a Roman nobleman. The first ruins of the Roman Villa were explored in the southern outskirt of Skala in 1944, and after the discovery Greek archeologists were excavated the complete floor with well preserved Roman mosaics.
